    Funeral services for Arie J. Vos, 66, were held Wednesday, December 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian Reformed church in Hawarden with Rev. Kenneth Vis officiating. Mrs. Richard Obbink accompanied congregation singing. A family service was held at the church at 1:15 p.m.

    Casket bearers were John Louwerse, Henry Hegeman, Tim Dykstra, Clarence Kingma, Ed Zwart, and Neal Schouten.
    Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery in Hawarden under the direction of the Cooperative Funeral Home Service of Sioux Center.

    Mr. Vos died Sunday, December 8, at the Hawarden hospital.

    He was born October 14, 1902, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, a son of Lane and Alida Vos. He lived his youth and attended school in The Netherlands.

    In 1920 he came to the United States with his parents and settled in the Rock Valley vicinity.

    On February 15, 1933, he married Effie Van Dieren at Hawarden and their entire married life was spent in the Hawarden vicinity.

    He was a member of the Christian Reformed church of Hawarden.

    Survivors include his wife, Effie; two sons, Leonard of Hawarden and Frank of South Sioux City, Nebraska; three daughters, Johanna (Mrs. Willard Keunen) of Alton, Alida (Mrs. Gary Madison) of Luverne, Minnesota, and Evelyn of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Lane of Artesia, California, Steve of Lakewood, California, Peter of Sioux Center, and Joe of Sioux Falls, and two sisters, Mrs. Bert Frings of Chino, California, and Mrs. George Kooi of Sioux Center.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

    Leonard Vos, of Hawarden, died Tuesday March 10 in a care center at Hawarden of long illness.
    Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Commuity Church. The Rev. Ralph Van Rneenen officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of the Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden.
    Mr. Vos was born May 29, 1935, at Ireton. He was a lifelong Ireton-Hawarden area resident.
    He worked as a farm laborer, employed by William McCarthy for 19 years.
    He was a member of the Community Church.
    Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Henry (Effie) Brands of Inwood; three sisters, Mrs. Willard (Jo) Keunen of Alton, Mrs. Gary (Alida) Madtson of Luverne, Minn, and Mrs. Marvin (Evelyn) Bajema of Coppersville, Mich.; and one brother, Frank of Jackson, Neb.
