  	Funeral Held Monday For P. J. Haverhals Dies Friday at Local Hospital Funeral services were held at Bethel Christian Reformed church here at 1:30 p.m. Monday for Peter J. Haverhals, 73, prominent retired Sioux county farmer and cattleman, who died at the Sioux Center Community hospital Friday after an illness of several months duration. Services were conducted by the Rev. Clarence Van der Plate and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of Co-operative Funeral home. Mr. Haverhals was born November 9, 1890, in The Netherlands. At the age of 20 he immigrated to the United States in 1910 and settled in the Lebanon area where he was engaged in farming and cattle feeding operations until retiring and moving into Sioux Center in 1947. He was married to Gertie Kooi on February 27, 1914. Survivors besides his widow include two sons, Siebert and Peter both of Hawarden; six daughters, Mrs. Chris Dragstra of Sioux Center Mrs. Peter Dekkers and Mrs. Melvin Bonnema, both of Hawarden; Mrs. Henry Dekkers of Ireton Miss Adelene Haverhals of Lynden, Wash., and Mrs. Allen Boeve of Vancouver, B.C., Canada. He is also survived by a brother John of Sioux Center, a sister, Mrs. Nellie Van Berkel of Sioux Center and 34 grandchildren. Active pallbearers were John Haverhals, jr., Swevert A. Haverhals, Mitchell Van Berkel, Leonard Vander Esch, Siebert Andela and Peter A. Haverhals. Honorary pallbearers were P.B. Mouw, Tony Hulstein, Case Vreugdenhil, Maurice A.
